Recently I had the pleasure of receiving a new book to review before its launch. The talented author, Shannon Cox was kind enough to send me a copy and I just loved it! The Intuitive Souls’s Activity Book was written by Shannon and illustrated by Natalie O’Brien. This book is so much fun to read and the illustrations and content had me hooked instantly!
Perspective
I really appreciated the introduction of the book which detailed Shannon’s life up to the point of writing this book. She is such an insightful person who went through a very tough time before discovering the power of energy healing. Her story touched me and I felt connected in the sense that I could relate to her experience. The background story was a wonderful precursor to the activity book and it nice to know how the creation of the book came about.
Freedom and Intuition
This book is really easy to read and the whimsical illustrations add such a fun element to your experience. In the beginning the author suggests that you read the book as your soul desires, there is no need to read it in any particular order. From the start this book allows you to put your intuition in charge. This simple acting of flipping through the pages and stopping at a chapter that catches your interest is so freeing, which is the whole point of this book. This book is perfect for anyone looking to learn a bit more about themselves, their inner power and how to let go and trust their intuition. A great and easy place to start for beginners but also a wonderful revision tool for those who are more experienced with using their intuitive skills.
Chapter Topics
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every chapter of this book. Each new chapter focused on a different topic and each topic related to the others in the book as well. Within this book you will find subjects that will pique your interest such as:
- Connecting With Your Spirit Guides – something I have been wondering about for a while.
- Life Choices & Soul Purpose – I just love the resources they provided with these topics which helped me discover so much more.
- Pendulum & Rune Stones – these two topics had me thinking about how nothing is a coincidence, as I had just purchased both items for myself while walking through the streets of Amsterdam. I had no real idea of how to use them, but after reading this book I realized both require a strong connection to my intuition.
The resources and further reading suggestions within this book are excellent and it inspired me to add many new non-fiction areas to my reading list. They also pointed out the connection between most activities to make it easier to refer to previous information you need to move forward with a new activity.
The activity book inspires a sense of joy and playfulness – expanding your intuition is not a serious endeavor, it is about getting to know yourself better in a fun and exciting new way.
